About OAS It is well known that town and country activities are intertwined; that city folk and country folk are involved in many of the same organizations and enjoy many of the same entertainments. For over 100 years, Olds Agricultural Society has been one of those organizations that town and country folk both participate in. From the fall of 1894 to now into the 21st century, OAS continues to strive for a balance between the educational and the entertainment features, pursuing excellence in livestock, culture and industry. We are very proud of the efforts of members from the past, and trust the volunteers of the present, as they plan for a very bright future in the town of Olds and Mountain View County. Our mission is to promote awareness and understanding of agriculture's vital role in the community, respectful of a rich heritage with a progressive focus on innovation for the future. Please review the OAS Bylaws if you are considering becoming a member (currently under review). If you have any questions about OAS, its events, or its involvement in community activities, don't hesitate to visit our Frequently Asked Questions page or, if the answer to your question does not appear there, contact us. To help you navigate our website, we have provided a Site Map and Search Engine for the pages within this website.
If you are interested in working with the Olds Agricultural Society, please forward a resumé at any time to the office. All employment opportunities are advertised on this website, including those required during fair-time. Since 2001, the RBC Dominion Securities Youth Ambassador Scholarship Program has awarded young users of our facilities. Scholarship recipients become the Olds Agricultural Society Youth Ambassadors. Olds Agricultural Society encourages everyone to participate in junior events and help secure your future education with one of the scholarships being offered. Volunteers and Board members are proud to be actively involved in the community. Other organizations know they can count on the Ag Society to help out with everything from providing facilities to flipping flapjacks! Every organization requires funding, and for many years, Alberta Lotteries has helped support the programs offered through the Ag Society. The money has been used to upgrade buildings, grounds and other capital projects, which in turn, support rural development and many community activities in and around Olds.
