SPECIAL FEATURES
Promising bigger and better things for kids of all ages, the Olds Fair & Rodeo has some special surprises in line for 2007. No fair would be complete without all sorts of goodies for the youngsters. Featuring a full line-up of family-oriented entertainment, including Monster Truck rides, you're in for a real treat. Check back closer to the fair for a complete lineup, location and schedule.
MIDWAY
Kids love a midway, and the little ones will be thrilled with the rides brought to us by Mac's Amusements this year. There's a plane, swings, a merry-go-round, moonwalk, and a few games of chance as well. Mom and dad, grandma and grandpa will all enjoy a walk down the midway.
KID'S WORLD
When you're ready to catch your breath, just a short walk will take you straight to Kid's World. Introduced in 1994, Kid's World has become a favorite attraction at the Olds Fair & Rodeo. Kid's World is a special place for small children to have fun learning about agriculture. Manned by the Innis Lake Ladies rural community association, Kid's World is a hands-on family area where mom and dad can have a good time with their kids in the dress-up centre (cowboys are always a highlight), woodworking, and reading farm-related stories. The water centre and sand centre are both favorites. Children spend time in centres with miniature farm machinery, colouring books, and of course, face painting. Add in the Ball Pit, and the kids have lots of fun jumping and rolling around amongst all the balls. Kids can get their faces painted, do some creative painting on the wall, take part in the singalong, or just enjoy some good old-fashioned play time. Kid's World is open daily on the fairgrounds at 12 noon. Be sure to stop in ... you might even get a chance to visit with Harvey the Hound and his friends!
FARM FRIENDS PETTING ZOO
Another treat for kids is the Farm Friends Petting Zoo, located just west of Kid's World. Farm Friends is put together by a group of local farmers and features a donkey, Jersey and Holstein calves, pygmy goats, ducks, rabbits, gerbils, and many more animals. Farm Friends is designed as a safe, clean petting zoo, where kids can actually get in and touch the animals that are found working on a typical Alberta farm.
