CHRISTIAN COWBOYS
Come on to the fairgrounds Sunday morning and join the Christian Cowboys for a great time of sharing, praising, and worship. The "cowboys" are an interdenominational group of Christians who travel to many rodeos to share their message of trust and faith by reaching out to cowboys, ranchers, their families, and friends during their Sunday church services (in case of poor weather, we will move to an indoor venue. This year we're pleased to have a pancake breakfast at the same time, so come for great food and terrific music.

BEER GARDENS
During the hot summer days, sometimes there's nothing quite like a nice cold beer. You can quench your thirst and kick up your heals in the Buckin' Chute Beer Gardens, located just west of the grandstand, where you can have a cool one with your friends and watch the rodeo or chuckwagon races at the same time! The Buckin' Chute is open all three days of the Fair beginning at 12 noon.

There's also the Budweiser Gardens east of the Kiwanis Concession Tent beside the grandstand, so plenty of opportunity for you to whet your whistle during the summer days at the fair.

Dealers in the area are often on hand at Machinery Row to answer any questions and give some pointers on farm safety.

MACHINERY ROW
Part of the Outdoor Marketplace at the fair, Machinery Row is an extensive display of modern farm machinery used on farms and ranches during harvest time, and for seeding and cultivating. Being in the heart of farm country in central Alberta helps, because there are more than 40 different exhibits ... everything from skid steers to air-conditioned harvesters. The machines are open so kids of all ages can climb up and see what the world looks like from the perspective of a farmer bringing in his crops.

PANAGO BEACH VOLLEYBALL CHALLENGE
Put together a team and have some great fun playing beach volleyball.Introduced at the 2002 County Fair was the first annual Olds Beach Party! Now coordinated by the Word of Life Church, Pastor Ed Furst, the Panago Beach Volleyball round robin tournament runs on Friday and Saturday, with the finals on Sunday. For more information, please contact Pastor Furst by phone at 403-556-4042 or by e-mail.

STOCK DOG COMPETITION
This competition pits dogs against sheep, and takes us back to the days when livestock were guarded and herded by the ranchers' dogs. This is a timed event and you'll be amazed as the handler directs the dog by voice or special whistle. This competition takes place at 12 noon on Friday in the new Mega Dome near the Caluori Pavilion.

Lots of other events and activities take place during fair-time in Olds: pancake breakfasts, the parade, and more. Three days of the fair makes for a great family holiday - you'll need all three days just to take everything in!
